Hey, on a scale of 1-10, rate my new single called “All This Money.”

Dear Fans,

About my song “I’m Handsome”. I ain’t gonna front. I wasn’t always confident. I use to be insecure of how I look because I had big lips. LOL I know it’s funny. I use to tell my mother about it and my mother said I was handsome. I had no problem with girls. They liked me but I was still insecure. I even thought about getting surgery to minimize my lips. LOL. On top of that, my freshman year in high school I had to get stitches on the right side of my lip because I had got into a fight with brother and a security guard. Any way as I got older I notice more people were calling me handsome. My teachers loved me. They said that I had a handsome face. Also girls were taking more notice in me. This boost my confidence level to new heights. As time went on I learned from my mother that being Handsome wasn’t just a look but a feeling as well. It was a state of mine.  You see “I’m Handsome” isn’t me just being conceited. It’s not about that. It’s about the feeling of being handsome and confident in yourself. I speak my truth in my music and I hope you can relate too; cause I’m Handsome.

A Story About My Songwriting

IMG_2675

On my way to writing hit songs. I’ve studied day in and day out on hit songs and their song structures. My goals was to learn how to write commercial R&B/Pop songs. During the Myspace days, I would reach out to songwriters in the music industry on how I can do that and I couldn’t get an answer. So I did some more research. I would look at the R&B/Hip Hop Billboard charts and see what were the top 10 hit songs of the week. And I would study those songs.

There were songs I didn’t like that were up there too but I still took notes. I would also look at Billboard’s Top 100 and look at the Pop Songs as well. Since my music would be R&B/Pop I would listen and sing along, til I knew those songs by heart. And now when I write a song, my ways of writing a chorus or a writing a verse was very different.

I would see similarities with my songs and some songs on the billboard charts. I would then sing my songs to some of my friends and they would say that I have hit songs. And that’s how I improved on my songwriting. Now I have more goals such as being a mainstream artist and hope that this inspired you to stay ambitious and never give up on your dreams.
